THE MOST DANGEROUS ROADS IN THE WORLD THAT YOU WOULD NEVER WANT TO DRIVE ON
Let me ask you this, if you were in a rush and had an option to take a riskier road to get to your destination quicker, would you take it? (part the part of the LOTR the army of the dead scene). Well we are going to show you some roads in the world that are so dangerous and deadly that being stuck in horrible LA traffic without Air conditioning would seem like a walk in the park in comparison.

Of course we have to start the video off with the North Yungas Road, Bolivia aka Death Road. The morbid name is because up to 300 drivers losing their lives every year until 1994. This notoriously dangerous road that stretches 43 miles long has been dubbed the world’s most dangerous highway due to fog and landslides and at every turn is a 2,000 feet death drop off the side of cliff.
The road is only about 10 feet wide with no guardrails and is the reason why so many cars fall over the edge. The road also attracts thrill seeking mountain bikers and has been estimated that 22 cyclists have been killed since 1998.

Dalton Highway. Said to be one of the loneliest roads in the world located in Alaska the highway is an eerie 666 kilometers long starting from Elliot Highway and ending at Deadhorse near the Arctic Ocean. The road was featured on BBC world’s most dangerous roads tv show.
That is because the harsh Alaskan wilderness of extreme cold, winds, avalanches, and poor visibility will even give the most experienced truckers problems. Sections of the road are unpaved and become extremely icy and slippery during the winter. There are no gas stations or food along the highway so truckers are advised to bring their own survival gear. Lanying Cliff Road in Chongqing is located in southwestern China and is a road that is carved on the side of a mountain. The view is simply breathtaking as it offers a par anomic view of the surrounding mountains and the beautiful countryside but the road also has sharp turns and one mistake can mean a plunge off the side of the mountain.
The Coastal Atlantic Road in Norway offers one of the most beautiful scenic routes you can every drive on. The road’s sharp arch’s and twists looks like a highway version of a rollercoaster. Now while it’s not particularly dangerous during the summer it can get pretty sketchy during the winter months when there are storms. Rain, fog, poor visibility, and the ocean waves smashing against certain points of the highway roads and islands can make the drive and nerve wrecking one.

Killar to Pangi Road, India – this road is not for the faint of heart. This 70 mile road runs through a mountainous region in northern India. It was constructed hundred years ago by villagers but there has been hardly any maintenance done to it ever since. If that by itself is not enough to cause spaghetti legs than maybe the fact that his road has a death drop of over 8,000 feet with some of the steepest cliffs in the world.
The road can get so narrow, if some cars are approaching from the opposite side – one car will have to back up enough to an area with more space so the other car can past.
Passage Du Gois in France is a treacherous road that is used since the 16th century that connects the French mainland to the island of Noirmoutier. Open for only a few hours a day during low tide because the rest of the day the entire road can be completely submerged underwater. If the driver’s timing is off they can find themselves trying to pass the approximately 2 an half mile stretch of road before the waves as high as 13 feet come crashing ashore.
Over the years many drivers had to abandon their cars and go for a swim when attempting to drive across and some had even lost their lives.

Located in Himachal Pradesh, India , the Rohtang Pass translates to pile of corpses due to the number of lives lost trying to cross it. With 13,000 feet in height from sea level it doesn’t’ take a genius Tomato to figure out that this is an exceptionally dangerous high mountain pass for traveling
Without side barriers and Covered in dense fog throughout the year causing poor visibility along with heavy winds, snow, slush, landslides can make the road an extremely treacherous one for travelers. The crazy thing is, there traffic jams are quite common with tourists looking for a thrill being one of them.
The ledge gets so narrow at certain points that ground on the sides look like it is ready to crumble from beneath making it nerve wrecking watching vehicles past let alone having to drive on it. One wrong move and its game over in the valley of death.
Karakoram highway - Offered referred to as the eighth wonder of the world, the highway it also holds a more sinister name – the death road. The highway connects China to Pakistan and was built by the two countries as a friendship highway. With an elevation of 15,400 feet above sea level this is one of the highest roads in the entire world.
The price that was paid to pave this road was hefty as 82 workers were killed during construction. Memorials of people that had lost their lives while traveling this highway can occasionally be seen on the side of the road. Landslides and falling boulders contribute to the many dangers as well as the lack of side barriers. One of the top causes of accidents is driver’s experience altitude sickness or distracted from the road with the beautiful surrounding views.

Kolyma Highway aka the road of bones in Yakutsk, Russia. The highway’s tragic dark history is equally as terrifying as traveling the road itself. During Stalin’s regime thousands of political prisoners were exiled to the gulags and build the Kolyma highway using just crude hand tools. Many died in the brutal conditions and grueling cold weather. The dead estimated ranging from 250,000 to 1 million were simply buried beneath the road and along the side of it.
Yakutsk has some of the coldest temperature ever recorded outside of Antarctica and the drive in the winter is extremely dangerous due to snow, ice, and poor visibility and frostbite condition. It doesn’t fare any better in the summer months because with the snow and ice from the winter melting, it creates large puddles of muds causing vehicles to be stuck. Wildlife that wanders onto the road can further create more risks to drivers.

Imagine a road so dangerous that even your car insurance won’t cover you if anything were to happen to you while driving there. Skippers canyon road in New Zealand which is about 25 miles away from Queenstown was carved by hand by miners in the late nineteenth century. It is a very narrow cut of road in the middle of sheer cliff face and offers some beautiful views but at the same time it is a risky drive. The road has dangerous drops off and extremely narrow sharp turns that offer no safety barriers and leaves no room for error. Drivers also face dangers of slidinge, falling rocks, animals jumping onto the road, and constant warning signs that remind you on how dangerous this road can be.
Stevlio pass in Italy is almost something you would expect to see in a fast and furious movie only this is real. Located in northern Italy bordering Switzerland the mountain pass is located 9045 feet above sea level is the highest paved mountain pass in the eastern alps.
So what makes this road treacherous to drive? Hmmm like maybe just the 75 extremely narrow hairpin turns with 48 on the northern side on a steep uphill road that is over 9,000 feet in elevation. The stunning views of the Alpine mountains can serve as a deadly distraction as there is nothing but a low concrete barrier between the driver and a steep drop all the way to the bottom.
